i have ot agree.. u get loads of hands on training at chabert.. being an intern now.. i was so surprised how little my US med students are actually allowed to do.. for most services they cannot even write notes in the chart let alone do procedures... and talking to the other interns that graduated from us schools... they have done no where close to as much ive had the chance to do.. our rotations at mua are great.. its not just chabert its everywhere else also... hands on is important.. makes ur life easier as an intern.. example last week i was just told to put in a few central lines, an a-line, 2 chest tubes and crash intubate someone ... all with no supervision of an upper level or an attending.. just on the spot and do it.. and i know had i not had the experience i had before as a student.. i woulda been struggling.. so be thankful we have the rotations we do...
ive worked with another intern from another foreign school (not big 3 or saba or mua) that ended up being kicked out of the residency program because he was totally incompetent.. didnt know how to write a soap note (unbelieveable...) and just could not function on a very basic level... so be thankful we are not in that boat...
