Constant vaginal infections

I have a question...for the last 3 months I have had 2 bacterial infections and at least 3-4 yeast infections. I go back and forth, I clear up the bacteria and get the yeast, and vice-versa. Sex should not be the issue since I am always being treated with something; I have only been able to have it once. My question is...2 days ago I got all the symptoms of a bacterial infection and started treatment with metrogel vaginal. After the first day, my discharge was clumpy white, felt very rubber like. Is this yeast ( I have no itching) or is it the discharge from the metrogel? I tryed to see if there was any of the gel still there but inside my vagina feels like rubber, I know that sounds weird but best way to describe it. I dont understand how treating myself for bv will give me yeast right away. I saw that the package inserts say 10 % of the time that happens...but it happened both times. The last time I was treated for bv was with oral flagyl, this type of discharge that I am having now did not happen then, just a normal yeast infection after the 7 days of oral flagyl. I am not sure which way to go next, my dr just keep checking the microscope and rx according to what he finds, is this normal to be infected all the time? Should I stop the metrogel, or treat myself for a yeast infection at the same time?
