Hopefully, I will be starting in fall at Lublinm Silesia, or Poznan. (I still have to contact Prof. Stan Wiktor for Poznan).

Am I going to Poland ? I don't know yet as I am still debating; however, I have been doing research for past one month.

I found that HMI offers clinical rotations at:

http://www.slam.katowice.pl/en/rotations.htm

and few other hospitals.

Mikols made the point about the rotations that we need to check for licensure..... So I am still in the process of confirming that.

Moreover, I have had a chance to talk to few students who are currently in the program (Silesia or Lublin), and they are satisfied.

Most of them said that: "It is not the best option. Try to get in the US medical school or Caribbean, and if that does not work out then opt for the medical schools in Poland"

Also I have confirmed that the graduates from Lublin or Silesia are currently doing their Residency or have finished their Residency at one or the other Hospitals.

The places where they did their residency:

New York, Ohio, Illinois, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Washing D.C, Michigan, Hawaii, Kentucky.

Again, if you are willing to go into competitive field such as Surgery, you might have really hard time to get a residency position; however, I did see that most of them had a Residency Position in Internal Medicine and Family Practice, so if that is what you are looking for...Poland should not be that bad.

The best bet for you would be to contact the Residency director at few hospitals and check with them whether they consider IMG for a residency position, and if they do what are the odds? What do they look for in IMG and what should you do to improve your chances?

Good Luck.
