Hi!!
Thanks for asking!
If you are new student to Ross, once you arrive, you will see postings around the campus on all the clubs available to you. There are SOOOOO many, and you can be a part of one or many. Most people find a favorite and join it, but they also attend events hosted by other clubs as well. There are many clubs available to students at Ross - ethnic clubs, medical, charity, religious clubs and even a scuba club.
For example, traditionally, the Black Student Association is known for many things, including throwing great parties, and when they have an event they post it around campus or email everyone through the campuswide email.
No matter what club you belong to, anyone is welcome to attend the public event or party. And something to note, not all members of the Black Student Association are black, so the clubs are not closed off to any member, just like you don't have to be a spouse to be in the spouses org. When you get here, you will meet many people and make many friends, you will find the club that you think will benefit you most.
If you would like to join the spouses organization you are most welcome to!!! We have had students as members in the past, and they really enjoy the events we plan. Most of your time as a student will be taken up, unfortunately, by the vast amount of studying and preparing for exams. However, it is important to realize that everyone's study habits and time necessary to retain the information is different. So if you want to wait until you arrive on Dominica to see the different club possibilities and the types of activities they plan, you are welcome to.
Otherwise, welcome to our club! You can "pm" me your email address and we can talk more privately so we can exchange more information or I can help you further with any questions or help you make a good decision.
Hope that helps!
Good luck on your move to Dominica!!!
