Belize campus

I have been to the Belize campus and am starting in January. I wanted to see what was there before I made a commitment. The island is pretty nice (www.ambergriscaye.com) and the crime rate is not high. Looking in the newspaper, the crimes were fights, possession of pot, carrying a rider on bike handle bars who was over the age of 10, petty theft, but nothing to rough. There were several grocery stores, meat shops, veggie stands. It's a tourist island so they have pretty much everything. The draw back that I saw was that it does not have paved roads. They are still sand with a few 'cobblestone' sections so its dusty and the students said really muddy when it rains. Most of the students ride bikes to school or rent golf carts. The cars are mainly taxis and business. But the islands flat so I walked everywhere when I was there. It was easy to get around and the island people were very friendly and helpful.
There are several airlines that fly directly into Belize City and then you take a 15 minute jump flight over to the island.
The campus is new and good size. There was still some contruction going on but there were three lecture halls, a lab and the library what were ready and the faculty offices and reception area. The students seems happy. All talked good about the school, faculty and administration.
I think the best thing is to check it out for yourself and then make your decision.
