Belize

Belize is somewhat underdeveloped country(2nd world status) There is not much to see and unfortunately can be unsafe in some areas. The medical schools here are pretty small and can lack some of the resources that the American or Canadian medical schools have(such as histology labs and adequate anatomy labs).
It is difficult to get by here. Public transportation(schoolbuses)is not dependable(schedule wise) and most are in 'worn down shape'. They also tend to be overcrowded.
Regarding Food/Groceries- they are expensive and choices can be limited. There are no major supermarkets or American fast food outlets.
Housing can be difficult to find and most houses need work done on them.
While the people are friendly, you do have to beware especially if you're a foreigner(since tourists are thought to be rich).
There is crime, especially in Belize city so you should be aware at all times.
If you're considering Belize campus, I would recommend if you could to visit the med school beforehand and the country to see if you would really want to live here for 2 years.
