surgery residency in australia
heyeveryone my name is colombo and im a germany medical resident in my 2nd year (means in my second year in clinical experience)
i am trying to find a surgery residency for about 2 years (or longer) in australia.
i am really confused about all the different terms to our system.
rmo, registrar, consult. it is hard for me to find the right job i have to aply for. rmo? rmo2? rmo2? registrar?
please can you explain the different stages in a hospital system? and what it needs to qualify for.
i need 2 years in surgery as part of my specialisation in orthopedics here in germany i have 20 month experience in orthopedic surgery (18 month aip=internship plus now 2 month as an assistent doctor=rmo???)
maybe there is someone so kind in explaining the australian medical system to me.
what does an aussie resident need to do to become an orthopedic surgeon???
in germany we need at the moment about 6 years after graduation experience in the field that you want to specialise in. thats about it and in the end you have 1 specialisation exam. and... tada .. you are specialised.
how does this work in australia? i heard there are many more exams to do .(does it cost alot? where can i find information?.. ???
maybe you can direct me into the right direction or recomend a book to read about medical career planing in australia.
thanks alot to relief my confusion
cheers
colombo
